Austria’s state railway ÖBB is continuing to innovate their services, in order to provide customers with the best possible options as they travel across Europe. With train travel becoming an increasingly popular mode of transport for solo travelers, ÖBB has responded by introducing a 24/7 service on their fleet of 33 new night trains, set to debut in December 2023. What sets these night trains apart is the inclusion of pod-like single berths, specifically designed for solo travelers to comfortably and conveniently rest during their journey. This is a significant improvement on traditional sleeping cars, which can often feel cramped and uncomfortable. In addition to these new pods, ÖBB will also be offering standard couchettes and sleeping cars to provide a range of accommodations to suit different traveler needs. This expansion of options will further solidify ÖBB’s position as a leader in the revival of overnight train services across Europe.
