Hybrid and Remote Work Increases Travel

Hybrid and remote work increase travel. These models are increasingly becoming popular and driving a surge in travel, as indicated by a recent survey conducted among the world’s most experienced travelers. It has been found that more than half of the respondents (59%) believe that the remote or hybrid workplace model boosts their motivation, as well as that of their friends and family and inspires them to travel more frequently. The 2024 Spring Global Rescue Traveler Sentiment and Safety Survey also revealed that the benefits of hybrid work models extend beyond just increased travel, as they provide greater flexibility and work-life balance to employees. As such, it comes as no surprise that this work model is gaining more acceptance in the corporate world.

Remote Work

The significant increase in the number of people traveling can be attributed to a nascent trend reported by the Oxford Economics survey. According to their research, not only are employers encouraging remote and hybrid workers to travel for business-related reasons, but they are also encouraging them to satisfy their employee travel desires by offering more flexible work arrangements and paid time off for travel. This has resulted in a surge in the number of people traveling for various purposes, including leisure travel, family holidays, cultural trips, and adventure travel. Furthermore, advances in technology and transportation have made it easier and more affordable than ever to explore new destinations and experience different cultures. As a result, we are seeing a growing number of people who prioritize travel as a key element of their lifestyle and personal growth.

Vacations used to be all about a complete escape from work, but now you can check emails from a hammock in the Maldives, take a break from a video conference to surf the incoming tide in Rincon, or finish the workday in Sweden and have plenty of time to view the Northern Lights.
